Iceland’s leading airline, Icelandair, has now resumed its seasonal flight service from Washington, D.C. to Iceland.
Icelandair resumed its seasonal Washington, D.C. service with flight #644 departing from Washington-Dulles International on Thursday 29th March at 8:40pm. The airline is now offering up to six flights per week from Washington-Dulles with service running through to 8th January 2013, resuming early spring 2013.
Along with the first flight of the season comes a new business class lounge. The Air France Business Lounge will now be open for all Icelandair Saga and Economy Comfort...

The proposed national referendum on changes to the Icelandic constitution will not now go ahead at the same time as this June’s presidential election. Parliament could not organise a vote in time.
The referendum was due to go ahead on 30th June, at the same time as the presidential election.
Now Vísir.is reports that Alþingi did not manage to pass a vote on a resolution about the referendum and such public consultations have to be organised with three or more months’ notice; meaning the deadline has now expired.

New Zealand’s transport minister has apologised for insulting Finland, claiming his remarks were sarcastic and just made in jest.
During a debate, Gerry Brownlee said the country “has worse unemployment than us, has less economic growth than us, can hardly feed the people who live there, has a terrible homicide rate, hardly educates its people, and has no respect for women.”
Finnish President Sauli Niinistö has already received an apology from New Zealand Prime Minister John Key, but Brownlee claims no harm was intended.
