The song Mundu eftir mér will be Iceland’s entry to the Eurovision Song Contest, which will take place in Azerbaijan in May,  reports.

Following an exciting competition, the song, composed by Greta Salóme Stefánsdóttir, resulted as the winner. The finale took place at Harpa’s main concert hall Eldborg.

Wearing a stylized version of the Icelandic national costume, Greta Salóme performed the song with singer Jón Jósep Snæbjörnsson as well as a band of back-up singers. In addition to singing, she played the violin. She is a full-time member of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra.

The song Stattu upp, by Ingólfur Þórarinsson and Axel Árnason, landed in second place.

Seven songs competed for the ticket to Baku. The winner was chosen by a national televote as well as a jury.

Mundu eftir mér will compete in the Eurovision Song Contest‘s semifinals on May 22nd. The final will take place on May 26th.
