Former football star from Akranes, Arnar Gunnlaugsson, is now dating Hollywood actress Michaela Conlin, visir.is reports. She has been spending the New Year in Reykjavík with him.
Icelandic entrepreneur, Playboy model, and underwear shop owner in Sofia, Bulgaria, Ásdís Rán Gunnarsdóttir told visir.is that she had the honor of introducing the couple. “We have some common friends in LA,” she explained.
Conlin’s most famous role is that of Angela Montenegro in the popular Fox drama Bones (starring Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz). In 2008 Conlin was nominated for an Asian Excellence Award in the category of Supporting Television actress, for the role.
In addition to her television work, Conlin has appeared in a fstring of new features, including Garmento, Love the Hard Way (starring Adrien Brody) and the independent film Open Window opposite Robin Tunney. Conlin appears in the 2011 drama film The Lincoln Lawyer with Matthew McConaughey and Marisa Tomei.
Arnar Gunnlaugsson has had a successful 22-year carrier as a soccer player, and is still going strong. He has played for ÍA, Feyenoord, F.C.Nurenberg, Sochaux, Bolton, Leicester City, Stoke City, Dundee United, KR, FH, Valur and Haukar. Last season he played for Fram in Reykjavík, where he participated in 14 games, scoring 6 goals.
Between 1993 and 2003, Arnar played 32 internationals for Iceland.
Ásdís Rán is his sister-in-law. Her husband, Garðar Gunnlaugsson is also a soccer player.
