Iceland keeps slipping down Transparency International’s list of the world’s least corrupt countries; it now places 13, down from 11 last year. New Zealand tops the list as the world’s least corrupt country.

Norway places sixth below Singapore, which ranks fifth, visir.is reports. Before the banking collapse in Iceland in 2008, the country ranked close to the top; it placed first in 2005 but had dropped to sixth by 2007. Transparency International considers Somalia and North Korea to be the world’s most corrupt states; Afghanistan, Iraq and Venezuela also bottom out. ICELAND
