The man has a long criminal history. He has, among other crimes, been charged with attempted murder, Fréttablaðið reports.

The man is one of the leaders of the motorcycle club Outlaws and is believed to be one of the organizers of the shooting. Police are investigating whether the gun found in his home was used.

The suspect has appealed the custody verdict to the Supreme Court.

In the evening of November 18 a man drove to a police station and reported that his car had been shot at outside the car sale dealership Höfðahöllin.

The attackers shot at his car as he drove off the parking lot and continued to fire at the moving vehicle, shattering the rear window. The case is believed to be connected with payoff in drug trade.
