Financial services company Standard & Poor’s conclude that in light of economic growth after two years of a deep recession the economic situation in Iceland is improving, upgrading the outlook for the Icelandic state from negative to stable last week.

S&P confirmed the credit rating for the Icelandic state treasury’s short and long-term obligations in Icelandic and foreign currency at BBB-/A-3 on Wednesday, visir.is reports. The outlook for Landsvirkjun, the Icelandic National Power Company, is also improving, S&P stated; the company’s credit rating remains at BB for now, ruv.is reports. Representatives of Landsvirkjun said in a statement that the changed outlook has limited impact on the company’s receivable commercial papers. ESA
