The Reykjavík Metropolitan Police was notified of a case similar in nature to those that have taken place in the past week: a man tried to lure a young girl into his car in Skipasund in Reykjavík, close to Langholtsskóli elementary school.

The last such incident, where two men tried to lure a boy into his car in Kópavogur with the promise of candy, was reported on Monday, Fréttabladid reports. The board of the National Parents’ Association of Iceland (Heimili og skóli) issued a statement yesterday, iterating that parents should talk candidly with their children about such risks but without instilling fear.
