NASA recently posted a satellite picture of Iceland on one of its websites, MODIS, from August 10 showing the entire island basking in sunshine with hardly a cloud blocking the view from outer space.

NASA Posts Satellite Photo of Sunny Iceland

A screenshot from the MODIS website.

Pictures taken by the satellites Terra and Auga are regularly posted on the website, which together photograph the entire surface of the earth at an interval of one to two days, visir.is reports.

MODIS stands for Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer and the images are used for scientific research.

General information about Iceland accompanied the picture of the island; for example, NASA’s scientists remarked how vegetated it has become.
