Police officers were notified at 5:40 am yesterday morning of a baby sitting alone in a car seat on a sidewalk in the western part of Reykjavík. The baby girl was warmly dressed and had a bottle.

The baby’s parents, who had gone to distribute newspapers, had planned to take their daughter with them but had forgotten to put her in the car before they drove off. The Child Protection Authority will handle this case.
