Canadian musician Shelley O’Brien will launch her European tour in Iceland with a concert in the venue Faktorý in Reykjavík on September 14, while in Seydisfjördur, east Iceland, Brazilian Iceland-based jazz singer Jussanam da Silva will perform with her band inside the local church on August 17 at 8:30 pm.
Benni Hemm Hemm and band will play at Faktorý in Reykjavík tomorrow.The band includes pianist Árni Heidar Karlsson, contrabassist Birgir Bragason and trumpet player Rodrigo Lopes, Morgunbladid reports.
Meanwhile, the gogoyoko.com concert series Wireless is ongoing. The third concert is coming up on August 18, when the band Valdimar will play at Hvíta perlan on Austurstraeti 12a in Reykjavík at 10 pm.
Benni Hemm Hemm and his band will play his first concert in Iceland this year at Faktorý in Reykjavík on August 17 at 10 pm. The musician recently moved back to his home country after a long stay in Scotland.
Markús & The Diversion Sessions will also perform at the concert; they were praised for their concert at the Innipúkinn festival during the first weekend of August, a press release states.
The doors open at 9 pm. Tickets cost ISK 1,000 (USD 8.7, EUR 6.1) and will be sold at the entrance.
The musician Kalli (Karl Henry) is currently touring in the US to follow up on his album Last Train Home which was released by One Little Indian in Europe and America on August 8 and has received promising reviews in the foreign media.
On August 15, Kalli appeared on WFMU Radio in New Jersey where he played a few songs and chatted with presenter Irene Trudel about his new album. On August 17, he will perform at Fontanas in New York at 8 pm.
