Cats are well known for hunting mice and Kisi Magnússon, the cat living on the farm Ytri-Skógar by Eyjafjöll is no exception. Kisi (an Icelandic nickname for cats) is said to be an eager hunter and has kept the number of mice to a minimum. He often brings his prey to Gudrún Tómasdóttir, the lady of the farm. Sometimes Kisi brings two mice at the same time and produces a very unusual sound to bring Gudrún’s attention to the gift.  Kisi Magnússon and the dead mink. On Saturday night Kisi brought an unusual catch. When Gudrún woke up the cat had a dying mink in his paws. The mink died soon, but Kisi was unusually interested in his latest victim and pushed the body a few times with his paw. It is unusual that cats attack minks, but this particular mink was not fully grown. Minks are considered pests in Iceland and everyone can legally kill them. It is also unusual that cats have patronymics, Magnússon being son of Magnús. According to mbl.is Kisi Magnússon lives with Gudrún, her husband Magnús and her brother Thórdur Tómasson.
