The Icelander who was stabbed in Amsterdam last Thursday was taken off of respiratory support on Saturday and is recovering in a general ward; the assailant has not been caught yet.

The 36-year-old Icelander is thought to have been assaulted by a soccer hooligan from Ireland or Scotland. He was walking with two friends when he was stabbed five times in the back, severely injuring him. He gave a statement to the police last Saturday.
