The Icelandic Committee on Human Names has decided that the names Dennis and Jane will be added to the human name registry. Sixteen Icelandic women already bare the name Jane.
From now on, Icelandic boys can be named Dennis and Annarr. Photo by Páll Stefánsson. The committee has also reversed its decision in January when the name Annarr was rejected, mbl.is reports. The committee concluded that the name does fulfill conditions on tradition and spelling. It was mentioned in this form in Snorra-Edda. ESA
