Helgi Tómasson, the Icelandic artistic director of the San Francisco Ballet, said he would be interested in staging a ballet in Harpa, the new concert and conference hall which is set to open at the Reykjavík seaside next month.

I don’t know what the Harpa concert hall is like or whether the ballet has a chance of performing there, but it would be great if I could familiarize myself with the facilities,” Tómasson told Morgunbladid. The San Francisco Ballet is considered one of the foremost ballet groups in the United States, as David Wiegand, an art critic at the San Francisco Chronicle, said. Icelanders await the opening of the concert hall with great anticipation; both opening concerts by the Iceland Symphony Orchestra on May 4 and 5 are sold out, visir.is reports.
