Awards were granted to those individuals and teams who raised the most funds—competitors posted pictures of themselves sporting moustaches on the campaign’s website and asked people to make donations—at a ceremony in the Reykjavík Maritime Museum.

Employees of Arion Bank placed first in the team competition with almost ISK 1.6 million and among individual contesters the late Magnús Gudmundsson, who died from leukemia in mid-March, raised the most funds, over ISK 2 million (USD 17,000, EUR 12,000).

His fiancé Ingibjörg Ragnarsdóttir accepted the award in his name and thanked all the people who made donations.
