The owner of a summerhouse in the rural district Fljótshlíd, south Iceland, notified the police in Hvolsvöllur that his summerhouse had been shot at last weekend. There was a hole in the wall made by a bullet from a 30 caliber rifle.

According to the police, there is nothing to indicate that the shooting had been an attempt to harm anyone inside the summerhouse and is considered to be accidental, Morgunbladid reports. However, the police consider the shooting a serious matter because bullets from rifles like these have a very long range, even a few kilometers.
